National Army Standard Water Grinding Titanium Alloy Plate | TC4/TA15/Ti80 Empowers High end Applications for Ship and 3D Printing
——Based on GJB 2218A-2018, we aim to build a foundation for high-end titanium materials through water grinding technology
In the marine corrosion environment of marine equipment and the precision forming requirements of 3D printing, the "military grade strength, ultra precision surface, and extreme adaptability" of titanium alloy plates have become the core demands. Baoji Dingding Titanium Products Co., Ltd. is deeply rooted in the "China Titanium Valley", with three 6-meter x 30 meter large water mills as production capacity support, focusing on the three core grades of TC4, TA15, and Ti80, and strictly following the national military standard GJB 2218A-2018 to create a water mill series of titanium alloy plates with a thickness coverage of 1.0m-60mm, providing "compliant, precise, and stable" titanium material solutions for high-end scenarios such as marine structural components and 3D printed substrates.
1、 National military standard hardcore compliance: full chain military control from raw materials to finished products
Ship equipment is related to navigation safety, and 3D printed aviation/military components cannot tolerate any deviation. Compliance with national military standards is the "iron certificate" for titanium alloy plates to enter the high-end field. Our company has established a full process military grade control system to ensure that every piece of board can withstand rigorous inspections.
1. Full coverage of multidimensional standards: The core implementation of GJB 2218A-2018 "Titanium and Titanium Alloy Plates for Aviation" is the national military standard standard, while meeting GJB 3621-1999 Ship Titanium Alloy Specification and GB/T 3621-2022 Industrial Standard. The key indicators of TC4/TA15/Ti80 all exceed the lower limit of the national military standard by 10%, and are suitable for the national military standard acceptance of ship equipment and the production requirements of 3D printed military components. It has obtained the qualification of qualified suppliers from multiple shipbuilding and aviation enterprises.
2. Military grade raw materials and melting: High purity sponge titanium with a purity of ≥ 99.8% is used as the raw material, and low gap impurity raw materials are additionally selected for high-strength grades such as Ti80. Through the dual process of "vacuum consumable arc furnace+electron beam cold bed furnace" melting for more than 4 times, the composition segregation error is achieved ≤ 0.01%, avoiding mechanical performance fluctuations caused by uneven composition from the source, ensuring the fatigue resistance of marine components and the stability of 3D printed substrates.
3. Full life cycle traceability: Establish a three-level traceability system of "furnace number batch number workpiece number", with each titanium alloy plate equipped with a dedicated traceability code. Scanning the code can obtain a complete "raw material analysis report+melting parameters+water mill records+performance testing report", which fully meets the full process traceability requirements of marine equipment and military 3D printing. Export products can simultaneously issue international compatible certification documents.
2、 Core brand performance: aviation, marine, 3D printing precise adaptation
TC4, TA15, and Ti80, the three core grades, each have their own performance focus. Combined with the national military standard water grinding process, they form a full field adaptation capability covering aviation, marine, and 3D printing. The company is equipped with three 6-meter x 30 meter large CNC water mills, which can process titanium alloy plates with a single size limit of 6000 x 30000mm. Through the process of "multiple water mills+real-time accuracy detection", the ultra precision standard of surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.4 μ m and flatness error ≤ 0.1mm/m is achieved, far exceeding the general processing technology and providing core support for high-end scenarios.

2. Core production capacity value of 6-meter x 30 meter water mill
As an enterprise equipped with large-scale water mills in the Baoji region, three sets of equipment have formed a large-scale processing capability, solving the industry pain points of "difficult large-scale processing and unstable accuracy" of high-end titanium alloy plates:
-Breakthrough in oversized specifications: The upper limit weight of a single plate can reach 8 tons, and it can directly process large components such as 10 meter ship decks and aircraft fuselage skins, reducing the number of splicing welds by 70% and significantly improving the overall structural strength and corrosion resistance of equipment.
-Ultra precision surface control: using diamond abrasive and CNC pressure closed-loop control to avoid surface scratches and pitting problems in traditional processing. When using 3D printed substrates, there is no need for secondary leveling, reducing the warpage rate of printed parts to below 0.05% and increasing the pass rate to 99.2%.
-Batch efficiency advantage: The daily processing capacity of a single equipment can reach 5 tons, and 3 parallel machines can achieve a production capacity of 200 tons per year. The surface accuracy fluctuation of the same batch of boards is ≤ 0.05 μ m, which meets the standardized requirements of aviation and marine bulk procurement. The delivery cycle of emergency orders is compressed to within 15 days.
